Activities

Firearms Wonderland

CMR’s firearms programs are designed to appeal to a full range of amateur/hobby users to professional/expert firearms enthusiasts.

Equestrian Paradise

CMR is an equestrian paradise for both people and horses, offering unprecedented horse-riding adventures for guests with any level of riding experience.  Blessed with incomparable scenic beauty and the highest quality of mounts for trail riding, visitors will experience the thrill of horses like never before.

Adventures Galore

The size and nature of the ranch’s terrain allow CMR to showcase some of the most adventurous hikes and UTV(side by side) rides.  Our UTV rides can range from merely scenic to truly thrilling as the trails up and down around the canyon and around its edges provide challenging trails and rock-crawling.

Ostrich Oasis

We proudly breed young ostriches here at Canyon Madness Ranch. Our farm offers quality products, including nutritious ostrich eggs and high-protein ostrich meat, sourced responsibly from our free-roaming birds.

Firearms Activities

CMR’s firearms programs are designed to appeal to a full range of amateur/hobby users to professional/expert firearms enthusiasts.

This luxury ranch uniquely offers the most ambitious range of firearms sports available anywhere — from hand guns to rifles as well as military style weapons starting with AR-15s to AR pistols and leading to super long-range scoped rifles and rifles mounted with thermal scopes for night time uses.  CMR provides these opportunities in unmatched scenic and breathtaking terrain starting from 100 yds to over one mile.  CMR also boasts an opportunity to shoot a Barrett M82-A1 (50 cal.) on a Humvee that was a veteran of the Iraq war.

CMR also features a twelve-station championship quality sporting-clay course designed by the notable Pete Blakeley, a pre-eminent course designer in the United States.  At the end of this course, CMR offers a “dessert” activity named the “Covey Rise” where five clay-throwing machines ejects a myriad of clays randomly and in multiples.  This crowd pleaser allows several shooters to engage these “birds” simultaneously.  There is also a trap shooting opportunity by the Teepee Lodge and on the side of the Shooting Range, a firearms sport highly suited for beginners.

Equipped with interactive targets set up for both recreation, training and competitions, the ranch is well-suited for hand-gun and rifle shooting for both recreational and vocational guests.

Inside CMR’s covered arena or outside in other locations of this spectacular ranch, more accomplished riders can find excitement in other disciplines like English cross-country trails and jumping or Western style reining, cutting or barrel-racing or even endurance riding.  CMR can offer much more than the common “nose-to-tail” trail riding; the ranch owns more than forty high quality and well-trained horses that include quarter-horses, paints, Gypsy Vanners and Gypsy crosses in order to give guests a range of horse-riding experiences.  CMR has recently added a program for mounted shooting on horseback using pistols, rifles and crossbows.  Those that have been used to riding horses in city or suburban facilities will find the most liberating thrill in engaging these fantastic animals in a wilderness paradise.

Adventures Galore

While bookended by the Firearms Wonderland and the Equestrian Paradise, Canyon Madness Ranch offers an additional host of other adventures to satisfy most vacationers’ desire.

For those interested in nineteenth century American history, remnants of old homesteads abound together with Indian artifacts like arrowheads and even pottery remnants.

Seasonally, depending on runoff from the high Sierras to the Canadian River, CMR can offer river activities like kayaking or canoeing.  Although there are many small fishes and crayfish in the waters, significant fishing is not a feature at CMR.  However, the topography of both the river canyon and the “box” canyon provides some of the most memorable photographic opportunities you can ever imagine.

There are incredible rock cliffs and world-class boulders all around CMR.  Our hiking trails promises spectacular canyon views while offering Level 1 to 4 difficulty.  While CMR’s bouldering is considered “world-class” by national experts, our sport climbing routes with installed bolts with quick draws and ropes offer only 5.5 to 5.9 levels of difficulty and therefore allow for only the most SCENIC of recreational climbing.  Qualified guests are welcome to climb if they are self-sufficient and do not require instruction.

CMR is blessed with challenging mountain biking trails.  Guests that are experts in this sport are welcome using their own bikes but CMR cannot offer equipment or instruction at this time.

Although Canyon Madness Ranch is blessed with a plethora of wildlife, the ranch does not host a guided hunting program for larger wildlife.  For now, CMR prefer shooting our larger animals with cameras rather than bullets.
